Visits to Westminster

Tour of the Houses of Parliament

Free guided tours of the Houses of Parliament are available to constituents on Monday to Fridays. The walking tour of the Palace of Westminster includes:

Westminster Hall, the ancient hall at the heart of the Palace where Parliament first sat and where many historic events have taken place; the House of Commons, including the Speaker's Chair and the famous green benches and the 'lobbies' where MPs actually vote; the House of Lords, including the Royal Throne; the Queen's Robing Room, Royal Gallery and many other fascinating parts of the Palace of Westminster.

Please note that tours are very popular and places are limited so generally have to be booked about six months in advance. If you are interested in attending a tour please contact my office including the names and addresses for all constituents who would like to attend.

Please note I am unable to provide tours for groups including individuals who are not my constituents.

Tour of the Elizabeth Tower

The last tour of the Elizabeth Tower will take place on 16 December 2016. After that date, tours will be suspended for approximately three years to allow for major refurbishment of the tower and clock mechanism, with the tower currently expected to reopen early in 2020.

Given the popularity of tours of the Elizabeth Tower, all of my allocated tour allowance has now been used. However, tours of the Palace of Westminster, including both the House of Commons and the House of Lords are still possible.

Please note I am unable to provide tours for groups including individuals who are not my constituents.

School Group visits

The Parliament Education Service can provide education visits that incorporate a tour and workshop. These take place throughout the school year, in the autumn, spring and summer terms. However, visits must be booked directly with the Education Service by a teacher or member of staff.

If you would like to know more and arrange a visit please contact the Education Service on 020 7219 4496. All bookings are made by phone, one school term in advance, on a given date.

The Education Service will often notify me of any bookings and I will try and meet with your school group on that day if my diary permits.

Gallery Tickets

Members of Parliament receive two Public Gallery tickets every eleven sitting days (excluding Fridays) for constituents. If you are interested in watching a debate please contact my office with your name and address.

I am allocated 6 tickets for Prime Minister’s Questions each year. We have a long waiting list, however, if you are interested in attending Prime Minister’s Questions please contact my office with your name and address and we will add your details to the list.

Please note I am unable to provide tickets for individuals who are not my constituents.
