Old Bexley and Sidcup MP James Brokenshire has joined staff at The Co-operative Food store on Station Road, Sidcup, to back a campaign calling on shoppers to show respect for retail workers.

James Brokenshire is calling for people to take part in the public consultation on the future of hospital services in South East London.  The MP’s message comes as the first of three formal public meetings in Bexley to discuss the special NHS Administrator’s recommendations is held this week.  The event which has been organised by Administrator Matthew Kershaw takes place on Tuesday night at The Boathouse in Danson Park.

Lest We Forget

James Brokenshire will mark Remembrance Sunday by attending the Civic Service of Remembrance at St John the Evangelist Church, Bexley where he will read a lesson.  James will then follow the Mayor of Bexley in laying a wreath at the war memorial in Bexley Village.

NHS Administrator Backs Plans For Queen Mary's Future

James Brokenshire has said that recommendations on local hospital services announced today provide firm foundations for the future of Queen Mary's Hospital and a way forward for hospitals in South East London after huge debt problems had started to question their viability.  James Brokenshire spoke to Matthew Kershaw - the Trust Special Administrator - late last night on his proposals for the South London Healthcare Trust and broader NHS services.

Boundary Change Improvement

Revised proposals for new Parliamentary constituencies for Bexley published by the Boundary Constituency this week more closely reflect local community ties according to James Brokenshire.  The Commission’s updated plans would mean changes to the current electoral boundaries but unlike previous proposals wouldn’t split Bexleyheath, Welling and Crayford between constituencies.
