James Brokenshire joined the Mayor of Bexley, Cllr Sybil Camsey, to re-open McDonald’s in Sidcup following a thorough refurbishment, adding new furniture, modifying the layout and installing a new order system which allows for food to be purchased from touch screens.
The new order system is a key part of the renovation, which allows kitchen staff to cook more food freshly to order, joining more than 50 restaurants up and down the country that have adopted the new system.
The redesign, part of McDonald’s ‘Experience of the Future’ concept, also provides wireless charging points for customers’ mobile phones and iPads that are available for use.
Commenting at the opening, James said:
“The McDonald’s restaurant is Sidcup is not only a favourite for many of its customers, but also makes an important contribution to the local community, undertaking litter patrols along the High Street and supporting a number of local youth, sports teams. It's really positive to see this investment underlining increased business confidence on Sidcup High Street and I hope this is something that will continue."
James will be holding one of his regular drop in surgeries at McDonalds in Sidcup on Friday 10 June between 4pm and 5pm.
