Royal Navy Praise

James Brokenshire has praised the work of the Royal Navy in stopping illegal drugs reaching the UK during a visit to HMS Portland in Lima.  Speaking to the crew of the frigate the Minister for Crime Prevention thanked the crew for their service and professionalism as the vessel commenced work on anti-narcotics patrols in the Carribean.

The event formed part of James Brokenshire's official visit to Latin America during which he held meetings with government ministers and officials in Colombia, Peru and Venezuela to promote closer co-operation with the UK in combating organised crime groups involved in the drugs trade.
