Old Farm Park

Bexley Council has confirmed its intention to dispose of part of Old Farm Park in Sidup. A meeting of the full Council approved proposals to sell the land for redevelopment as part of plans to secure the borough’s finances until 2018 and beyond.

I have made representations to the Council asking that they re-examine the proposal to sell off this green space underlining how Old Farm Park is an important community asset for people in the surrounding area.  You can read my submission below.

I'm obviously disappointed that the sale of the land now looks set to proceed. Ultimately, this is a decision for the Council in determining the most appropriate strategy to see that the borough’s finances remain on a sound footing and knowing that there are no easy solutions.
