James Brokenshire has welcomed a number of new businesses to Blackfen during a visit to the High Street, including new eatery Bagel Stop and The Beauty Lounge, providing beauty treatments and a tanning salon.
As part of the visit, James met with employees at the new Bagel Stop on the corner of the High Street and Westwood Lane, trying one of their bagels and learning about the business’ first few weeks. In addition, James met with the owner of The Beauty Lounge on the corner of Sycamore Avenue and Blackfen Road.
Commenting during the visit, James said:
“I welcome those businesses that have recently opened to Blackfen and wish them every success going forward. The Government is working hard to protect and improve our high streets, with reductions in business taxes and reforms to the business rates system which reduce the amount small businesses pay.”
“It is great to see these new openings, but I know there is still more to do to encourage more people and businesses to come to Blackfen. I will continue to work with Bexley Council to explore what further can be done to improve the High Street for shoppers and residents.”
