James Brokenshire has paid tribute to the commitment and dedication to those serving in the Armed Forces as he attended a special ceremony to raise the Armed Forces Day Flag outside the Civic Offices in Bexleyheath.
Armed Forces Day is on Saturday 29th June 2019 and is an annual opportunity to show support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community.
James was joined by the Mayor of Bexley, the Leader of the Council and the Deputy Lieutenant for Bexley for the ceremony with the flag being raised by Sergeant Carl Crane.
Commenting on the event, James said:
“Armed Forces Day provides an important opportunity for us to pay tribute to service personnel for everything they do on our behalf. It shows our support for their work in keeping us safe and secure, from those currently serving abroad to the cadet force, reservists and veterans.”
