James Brokenshire has opened Blackfen’s new-look Post Office on the High Street, welcoming the refurbished interior and the extended opening hours, which will ensure that local residents can access Post Office services for longer, in the mornings, after work and at weekends.
The refurbishment comes as part of the Post Office’s plan to modernise the network and extend opening hours for customers. In addition to two new open plan serving positions and a screened counter, customers will also be able to access Post Office services at the retail counter.
The new opening hours of the Blackfen branch will be:
Monday to Saturday 07:00 – 22:00
Sunday 08:00 – 21:00
Commenting at the ribbon cutting event, James said:
"I welcomed the news that Blackfen Post Office was to be modernised and am delighted to be here today to congratulate the operator, Kiran Vithani, on his hard work and to formally open the new branch. The Post Office is vital to the community around Blackfen and I'm sure the new improved office and the longer opening hours, will be warmly welcomed by my constituents."
