James Brokenshire has welcomed confirmation that Sunday services to Joydens Wood on the B12 bus will start this weekend. Transport for London has said that the extended service will commence after "overwhelming" support from a recent public consultation.
From Sunday, there will now be a B12 bus through Joydens Wood, Cold Blow and parts of Northumberland Heath every 30 minutes. The change finally introduces 7 day a week running after concerted pressure from local residents.
James Brokenshire has supported the long standing campaign led by the Coldblow Residents Association to introduce the service. Commenting, James said:
"This is great news for everyone who has campaigned for a number of years to introduce a Sunday bus service up to Joydens Wood. At the moment there is no public transport on a Sunday for this area. The extended B12 bus will finally change this and make it easier for people without a car to get around Bexley seven days a week."
Details of the new timetable can be viewed below and James is encouraging local residents to use the new service.
