For me Christmas is about friends and family. A time to take stock and to look forward to the year ahead.
The Olympic Games will increasingly dominate events. London 2012 will be an incredible sporting and cultural event which we’ll all remember for years to come. It’s fantastic that Bexley will be a part of the build-up, hosting a special torch relay event. It will bring the community together as I’m sure the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee will too.
The most important local issue for me will remain Queen Mary’s Hospital. Key decisions likely to define the care provided from our local hospital will take shape in the New Year. I’ll continue to press for services to be expanded. Safety on our streets, support for local business and public transport performance will continue to be high on my agenda.
I hope you enjoy a peaceful and restful Christmas and a healthy and happy New Year.
