James Brokenshire is encouraging Albany Park residents to give their views over proposed changes to local bus services. New proposals would see the route of the B14 bus, which runs every 30 minutes between Bexleyheath Shopping Centre and Orpington station, changed to reduce the overall journey time and new bus stops added to improve the service, particularly for users of Albany Park Station.
The changes will see the route redirected from Onslow Drive completely and from Bexley Lane during most of the day and turn directly into Royal Road or Longmead Drive, travelling northbound or southbound respectively. Two new bus stops will also be installed outside number 62/64 on Longmead Drive to improve access for commuters travelling to or from Albany Park Station and outside numbers 14/16 on the same road.
Following the positive comments received during a trial of the new route earlier in 2013, Transport for London is currently consulting on the proposals in order to allow route users, local residents and other interested parties to express their views on the changes. To contribute to the consultation online, you can visit the TFL website at https://consultations/tfl.gov.uk/buses/b14 or you can send your comments in using TFL’s business reply service to: FREEPOST TFL CONSTULTATIONS
Commenting, James said: “These changes appear to offer an improved service on the B14 in Albany Park, but it is important that local people have their say and take part in the consultation.”
