James Brokenshire has praised the work of local police officers in keeping Bexley safe. The MP’s comments came following a special commendation ceremony where Bexley’s Police Borough Commander, Peter Ayling, highlighted particular acts of bravery, commitment and professionalism by police officers and others.
The special event at the Boathouse in Danson Park was also attended by David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, as well as the Mayor of Bexley, Councillor Howard Mariner.
Commenting James said:
“It is important that we recognise the work of local police officers, who put their own safety on the line every day in order to keep us safe. It is good to hear that their hard work is paying off and that crime is falling, nationally, across London and more locally too.”
