Boosting Bexley Businesses Online

Over sixty Bexley business people heard how to promote their firms online and increase opportunities for sales at a special Google workshop in Sidcup on Friday.  James Brokenshire co-hosted the event at the New Community Church and underlined the increasing importance of the digital economy to promoting growth and creating jobs.

Firms were given free advice from a team of experts from Google on how to make the most of the Internet and grow a business online.  During the workshop tips were provided on how to use key words to improve rankings on internet search engines as well as how to use tools to analyse the source of website visits.  Firms were also given the opportunity to talk through strategies for harnessing social media services such as Facebook, Twitter, Linked-in and Google Plus.

Commenting James said:

“E-commerce is becoming an increasingly important part of the economy as we change the way that we shop and do business.  That’s why I was pleased to be able to host this event with Google and offer local entrepreneurs and businesses the chance to pick up some new tips and ideas.  Feedback from the event was really positive underlining the interest local firms have in boosting their businesses online.”
