Essential repairs to the flyover over the A2 at the Black Prince interchange could cause travel disruption next week.
Further repairs on the Bourne Road flyover have become necessary after contractors discovered a significant fault on the north wall. It has been repaired temporarily, but a full repair is scheduled to take place from Monday (30 September) and will take approximately one week to complete.
The flyover will be fully closed from 8pm until 5am on Monday 30 September, Thursday 3 October and Sunday 6 October. Outside of these times, a contra flow system and diversion will be in place at various stages of the repair.
The contra flow system will be in place for the whole week (except on the nights of the full closures), with both directions of travel using either the north or southbound carriageway. Bexley Council have warned that this will lead to unavoidable congestion and delays - especially during rush hour.
