James Brokenshire joined the Mayor of Bexley, Councillor Sharon Massey, at a special charity concert organised by the Sidcup Rotary Club to mark the anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
The event at Chislehurst & Sidcup Grammar School remembered some of the songs and music of the war era.
The Greenwich Concert Band led the way playing the Dam Busters March, the songs of Glenn Miller and a number of other tunes evoking the war time period. The concert also featured a tribute to the Andrews Sisters as well as rounding off the evening with a 'Last Night of the Proms' feel.
The event raised £2,700 for the charity Duchenne Now which funds research into the degenerative muscle wasting condition Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
