James Brokenshire has described the funeral of Baroness Thatcher of Kesteven as moving and poignant.
The Old Bexley & Sidcup MP joined around 2,500 mourners at St Paul’s Cathedral on Wednesday morning.
Commenting James said:
"The funeral at St Paul's was a moving and fitting way to recognise and pay respects to an inspirational Prime Minister. It was a very powerful and emotional occasion underlining Baroness Thatcher's strong Christian faith which grounded her beliefs.
"Baroness Thatcher's leadership transformed the prospects of our country at a time when we were in deep difficulties. I believe that the event was entirely appropriate when considering her achievements, her service to our country and the way she changed the course of British history."
