James Brokenshire has welcomed news that, from Saturday 16 December, the 96 bus will begin to stop at Darent Valley Hospital, using the Fastrack Bus Routes between Dartford and Bluewater.
The change is the result of a long running campaign by James, as well as Bexley Council and will represent an important improvement for those visiting the hospital. The 96’s full route will now run between Woolwich and Bluewater, stopping in Plumstead, Welling, Bexleyheath, Crayford, Dartford and the hospital.
Darent Valley Hospital provides a number of elective services for Bexley residents, as well as accident and emergency services.
Commenting, James said:
“This change will make a big difference to patients accessing Darent Valley Hospital using public transport. Not needing to change buses in Dartford will not only save time, but will reduce the cost for Bexley patients using the hospital or visiting friends and family.”
“I am pleased that the hard work of Bexley Council and others have paid off in bringing about this important improvement.”
