My strong sense from talking to people over the last few weeks is that the 'No to AV' campaign is gaining momentum here in Bexley. So many people have told me that they are content with our current 'first past the post' system and at a time of financial crisis, now is not the time to be tinkering around with how we vote.

Had a fantastic day joining in the celebrations for the Royal Wedding at a special event in Bexley Village.  Watched the coverage of the service from Westminster Abbey and all of the build-up on a big screen in the Freemantle Hall in the Village.  It certainly added to the enjoyment of the occasion to be able to share the spirit of the day with others.

After the long Easter Weekend - a busy few days ahead in Westminster.  I'll be leading the Government's response on the Protection of Freedom's Bill which rolls back the creeping intrusion of the State which grew under the last Labour Government.  The Bill is currently being considered in committee and we will have two full days of scrutiny on Tuesday and Thursday.
